VoIP to iPod Touch
By admin | January 2, 2008
Software developers Touchmods, is a small team that has created a application that is sure to be a huge buzz, it is (According to Touchmods) the first world’s free SIP-VoIP. The release is version 1.0 of “SIP-VoIP” for the iPod Touch that will allow users to make VoIP calls via a WiFi connection on there iPod Touch (your iPod touch must have been through the ‘jailbreak’ in order for this to work). The software is compatible with several VoIP providers including Freecall, SIPphone, VoipBuster and VoipCheap, and with the popular Asterisk open-source IP PABX. The one downside is the iPod touch has no microphone, but no fear, along with the software, touchmods has have instructions for building a microphone that attaches to the dock connector. If your not looking to do any building, Touchmods plans to sell microphones in the $30 to $40 range.
