Apple patent for iPod Touch gaming?

A newly uncovered patent application filed by Apple for “techniques that provide input to interactive and multitasking applications, especially in regards to gaming.” The patent shows a type of media player, (which may indicate the iPhone or iPod touch) makes reference to a music-based game.
A location on the input area can be designated, for example, for a gaming application if input is received in a particular manner different than that designated for the non-gaming application (e.g., tapping or touching the region would send input to a gaming application, but pressing would result in a media player function)
Functions such as that would work well on iPod Touches and iPhones so you can have music playing in the background, and can control the music while still in the game. However, there is a chance this would integrated into a future product, but it sure looks like it will be wonderful for the iPod touch.

uTorrent WebUI For The iPod Touch and iPhone

Although you still can’t download using bitorrent on the iPhone or iPod Touch, you can check the status of running torrents on your computer from any ware in the world, using uTorrent’s WebUI. Davidraso.com has released a Web Interface for µTorrent, that is optimized for iPhone and iPod Touch. It Looks to be somewhat simple, and is not yet perfected, as there are a few bugs when calculating the size of torrents, but it will work. It is also is bit limited, at the moment it only allows for basic control of the
µTorrent client, you are able to see the status of active torrents, pause and resume a torrent, and add a new torrent by entering the url to a torrent or minimova id. However even with the small bugs and the modest functions, it is the best thing going, Right now there is not a built-in BitTorrent client for the iPhone or iPod Touch. Hopefully developers will soon be coming up with a full featured BitTorrent client. iPod Touch GBA emulator

For those of you with hacked Mobile OSX units, your choice of emulators is no longer limited to the NES variety. You may have noticed gpSPhone.app in Installer recently, but it has nothing to do with GPS or calling. It is actually a Game Boy Advance emulator, and it’s been available for a short time now.

Java support for iPod Touch

As of now there is no support for java applications on iPod touch or iPhone that would make it able run on the devices, though according to some that may be about to change. An official at Sun Microsystems said hes that Java is going to be ported for the iPod touch and iPhone. He said that Apple is planning to release an SDK for the iPhone in the 1st part 2008, and that would result in Java ME being created for the device.
